Malcolm Macpherson was born and raised in Vancouver BC. He is of Indigenous Migmaw heritage on his mother’s side of the family, who are from Quebec.
Malcolm attended law school at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, where he focused his studies on business and Indigenous law.
Malcolm is a partner at Clark Wilson LLP in Vancouver, one of Vancouver’s oldest and largest firms, where he focuses his practice on the intersection of economic development, energy, forestry and Indigenous title and rights in Western Canada. He previously acted in the capacity of lead negotiator for Canada’s largest distributor of natural gas for seven years, and currently carries an active negotiation practice in the oil and gas sector.
From the outset of his legal career, Malcolm has focused on leading meaningful social and economic transformation for Indigenous clients and related corporations.
When not practicing law, Malcolm spends most of his time with his young family on a small acreage in South Surrey, BC.
